Due to the first Wednesday in July being on the 4th, the Manzano Mesa Center will be closed, so our next CPNM Monthly Meeting for the public will be held there on 1 August 2018. Thanks to the great work of Kent Miller we are very close to re-gaining Ballot Access here in New Mexico. We need 2,564 validated petition signatures to regain Ballot Access and we are around 3,300 total acquired so far. We have to turn them in to the Secretary of State’s Office in Santa Fe by 28 June 2018. We will post an update on this petition drive later in the month and also will post an update when we take the completed petitions to the SOS’s Office.
Our CPNM Monthly Meeting for this coming month will be held 6 June 2018 at 6:45 P.M. MDT at the Manzano Mesa Multi-Generational Center at 501 Elizabeth St in SE Albuquerque. They usually assign us to whatever Room is available that night, so check at the front desk when you arrive, or you see us in a Room. Most of the meeting will be focused on our Petition Signature gathering for Ballot Access, which is due in at the Secretary of State’s Office in Santa Fe by June 28, 2018. Kent Miller the State Chairman of CP Arizona has been here helping us the past week, so we will get a report from him on his progress in this project. The meeting should adjourn around 8:15 P. M.
Most of the May 2, 2018 Monthly Meeting will be discussing the just completed CP National Committee Meeting in Denver, CO April 20-21, 2018. We will discuss the three Resolutions that were submitted by the State Parties and the resulting votes on them by the NCM in attendance. We will also discuss the next two National Committee Meetings for Fall 2018 and the Spring of 2019. Another topic of discussion will be on our petition signature gathering for Ballot Access that is due at the Secretary of State’s Office in Santa Fe by June 28, 2018. This will be the first monthly meeting to be chaired by our newly elected State Chairman, John W. “JW” Fakes of Albuquerque.
CPNM will be represented at the NCM in Denver by new State Chairman John Fakes who will be accompanied by new Vice-Chairman Bob Bowen, and newly re-elected Treasurer Charleen Bishop. A complete report on the NCM will be posted on this website after we return from Denver.
Our regular CPNM Monthly Meeting will be convened as a State Convention at 6:45 P.M. MDT at the Manzano Mesa Multi-Generational Center at 501 Elizabeth St SE in Albuquerque to vote for a new State Chairman for a 4-year Term. So far, we only have one person who has filed the form with us to run for that office. To qualify for the office, you must be registered with our Party, be a paid member ($25 per year), complete the form downloadable on this website under the “Join” option, and attend the Convention on April 4, 2018. The application must be completed and in our hands by March 31, 2018. My 4-year Term as State Chairman will end when the vote count is completed and verified at the Convention and I turn the gavel over to the new State Chairman. The Vice-Chairman is selected by the new State Chairman. I will assist in the transfer of duties and I plan on remaining as a National Committee Member and will be attending the National Committee Meeting in Denver, CO on April 19-21, 2018. So far we have three Committee Members paid up and registered for the Denver Meeting. If you are interested in becoming a National Committee Member, the cost is $100 per year and that gives you voting rights at both Committee Meetings held in different locations throughout the United States. Hotel Reservations for that Meeting must be made by March 28, 2018 and you can find all instructions for attending on the Constitution Party National website at: http://www.constitutionparty.com/
